This book is a fantasy tale, written many years before I started to write thrillers and horror. One reader asked: ‘Did you get the idea from Harry Potter?’ No, I didn’t. This book was originally started in 1991, but for personal reasons (well known to those closest to me) was not finished for another three years. I have never read a Harry Potter novel, so if there are any similarities to be drawn in any part of this book, they are wholly coincidental. When I wrote this book it was not with any commercial profit in mind. So if I have strayed from whatever genre you may imagine this book to be written in, I cannot apologise. This book was written for fun, not profit. So you may love it, you may hate it, but please don’t try to categorise it above fantasy. This book, for very good reason, is dear to my heart. So if you do hate it, try to be nice in your comments.THE BOOKAstrice is a student at the Castle of Learning- sure of his future as Court Magician to the Kingdom of Syntobia once his time at the Castle is done.
